SPL3-TS Auto Volume Limiter with Microphone

The Dateq SPL3-TS micro-controller continuously measures the input level and attenuates the output level as much as necessary to keep the sound level within the given threshold. Because the SPL3-TS is not a peak limiter the dynamics of the music remain unchanged.

The SPL3TS has a built in clock / timer. This makes it possible to program a different sound level at different periods of the day. The built in calendar also allows you to program a list of 10 dates to switch the limiter to bypass automatically. All these settings can be adjusted by using the PC software.

This is the lowest cost automatic volume limiter that allows up to 3 different sound levels to be set when measuring the sound level with a microphone rather than through the signal cables.

A measuring microphone is connected so that the audio level in the room can be measured accurately. Where a live band uses its own PA system. the limiter can give a warning to the band (with a flashing light). If the sound level remains too loud for a longer period of time the limiter will activate the sanction output and can, if desired, cut off the mains supply to the sound equipment (additional equipment required).
