VCX Intelligent Automatic Volume Limiter. Alternative to the industry standard AVC2, featuring the same high quality but at a lower price. The VCX provides full control of music levels without compromising the audio quality. Installation is very straightforward with just a couple of cables to plug in and is usually a DIY task.
PLEASE NOTE: This product is usually only suitable when the sound system is permanently installed in the venue. For venues where DJs or bands use their own equipment the Lime NLX (v2.2) Noise Limiter (click here for details) is required. ** In Stock ** Delivery usually 1-2 working days. The Lime Technologies VCX automatically adjusts the volume once your preset threshold has been reached to keep the audio level within required limits. When attenuating the audio signal the distortion from the VCX is less than 0.01% so the quality of the sound is not compromised. With the optional control microphone connected, the volume level is limited based on the actual sound pressure level so any changes to equipment after the VCX are compensated for. LEDs indicate the status and the level of attenuation being applied. The factory setting will not instantly react to individual peaks or dips but responds to average programme level giving smooth operation that is almost imperceptible as the level is automatically adjusted. A security panel is available for the back to protect against unauthorised adjustment or removal of connectors and a mute facility allows connection to a fire alarm or door switches to instantly reduce the sound level by 20dB. The advantage of the VCX over compressor / limiters is that there is no reduction in the dynamic range of the system under normal operating conditions. Therefore the music remains punchy without the restricted sound of compressor/limiters. Simple to use and providing effective control over the audio signal without compromising music quality, the VCX is probably the best value device for controlling audio volume levels available today.
Individual frequency / octave bands can be taken into account when controlling sound levels if used with the product below.
